Best of 2024!! - Mad's Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites - Best of 2024

Here we are at the end of another year. 2024 certainly had its fair share of ups and downs, but a high point for our family was certainly welcoming our second child.

As always, I am so thankful for all of you for being here this year, for cooking alongside me, and supporting our family. I say this a lot, but I truly have the best job in the world and it is because of all of you. Cannot wait to see what 2025 brings!!

I shared or updated 166 recipes this year!! Thats a lot of food. These 10 recipes are my absolute favorites from 2024

  1. Potato Cheddar Chive Bakes
  2. Ranch Chex Mix
  3. Protein Banana Bread
  4. Apple Crumb Cake
  5. Italian Hoagie Sliders
  6. Air Fryer Salmon Bites
  7. Stuffed Pepper Casserole
  8. Small Batch Chocolate Chip Cookies
  9. Broccoli Sausage Pasta
  10. Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese

My Favorite Kitchen Tools of 2024

I am in the kitchen for many, many hours a day so if I LOVE an item, you can trust that it is GOOD!

  1. Material Kitchen Grippy REBoard - I use a wooden cutting board for many things, but not for meats and other items that can carry bacteria. I LOVE this grippy cutting board that doesn't slide around my counter. You can use code MADELINEMATERIAL for 20% off
  2. KitchenAid Cordless Hand Mixer - It's very nice not to have to mess with the cord when you are making things like cookies and cakes. It holds a charge a really long time!
  3. USA Pan Bakeware - I have shifted all of my bakeware to this brand. It is the best! Nothing sticks to it, easy to clean and doesn't warp even in a super hot oven.
  4. Zwilling Pro Chef Knife - a good sharp knife is a cooks most important tool. I have a lot of knives and this is the one I reach for most often. If you are a novice cook looking to improve your skills, I recommend the Material Kitchen Knife Trio that you can use code MADELINEMATERIAL for 20% off.

My Personal Favorites of 2024

Nine things that have made my life better in 2024 - a year where I valued cozy comfy time at home, being active with my energetic 2 year old, and finding a personal care routine that works best for me.

  1. Korean Skincare - My oil cleanser, exfoliator, serum and overnight mask are all now from Korean skincare brands and I am hooked! My skin is the best it has looked in years - my sister even accused me of lying about having botox :)
  2. Soft Checkered Blanket - lots of cozying up on the couch this year means lots of time with this blanket. I recommend it to everyone.
  3. Modal Pajamas - if you follow me on Instagram, you know I am a pajama set gal. I am forever changed by modal pajamas. The ones I love are sold out, but they are 95% modal. These ones from GAP are 89% modal so I am going to give them a try and hope they feel similar!
  4. Candle Warmer - I don't trust myself with a real candle in my office because I know I will forget to blow it out. This warmer is a fantastic compromise because it creates a cozy and great smelling environment without a flame.
  5. Low Maintenance Nail Polish - KUR Illuminating nail concealer + a top coat is the combo that makes my nails looks like they have a gorgeous, shiny coat of gel ballet slipper nail polish, but your nails actually stay healthy and it takes 5 minutes to apply.
  6. Frost Buddy - Stopping for a fun coffee is one of the things that keeps me sane as a toddler mom, but it takes me forever to drink it. I LOVE this frost buddy that Amy got for me. Keeps my iced coffee cold all day, prevents the ice from melting and I no longer have a puddle on my desktop.
  7. Hokas - are these on my favorite each year? For good reason! Best shoes if you are on your feet all day like I am for cooking.
  8. Long Winter Coat - I asked Amy for a winter coat that goes to my ankles for Christmas and she really delivered. Never would have thought I would love a Lands End coat so much, but its SO warm and comfy and 50% off right now!! I am 5'3" and the petite length is perfect.
  9. Oura Ring - with a new baby, I am getting less sleep than ever, but I still love my Oura ring. Its an easy way for me to keep track of how many times a night I am up with the baby without having to remember or write it down. It's also helping me see what sleep routine is best for my body with the new baby.

Last, but certainly not least I wrote 3 Ebooks this year! It's a way to bring my recipes into your home without the ads on my website or social media. You can purchase them below!

I am ALL for convenience and shortcuts (mom of 2 wild little boys here), but there are a few items lately that I have found are just so much better homemade. + I think I am saving money in the long run by making vs. buying. Super Soft Sandwich Bread - we realized our 2 year old LOVES a homemade uncrustable, but I just didn't love any of the soft white bread options at the grocery store. Now I use this recipe and a homemade uncrustable cutter to make our own. Salad Dressings - It's just so...

No matter who you're celebrating with, make valentine's day a night to remember with this perfect Valentines Day dinner menu. Start the evening with a small cheese board to share while you cook. I like to do a small wedge of triple cream brie, green grapes, fig jam and some simple salty crackers. For the entree I am making a reverse sear filet mignon with truffle mushroom risotto and air fryer asparagus. If you are not a mushroom person I highly recommend swapping that out for these mashed...
