Currently Loving... the roundup!

If you've been reading my emails lately, you might have seen the section I include at the bottom with some things I've been into lately. I wanted to compile a big list of my absolute favorites from that section in July!

  • ๐ŸŒฟ Homemade basil mayo - if your garden is overflowing with basil, but you're over pesto (๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ) then you need to try this recipe. Blanch 1/2 cup packed basil leaves to keep them bright and vibrant. Remove from water bath and dry completely. Blend with 1 egg yolk, 2 tbsp vinegar, 1 tbsp dijon mustard and a pinch of salt. Slowly stream in 3/4 cup neutral tasting oil (I used avocado oil) and continue blending until you have a mayo consistency. Store in the fridge in a glass jar. I like to use 16oz glass jars with plastic replacement lids becuase the metal ones tend to rust.
  • ๐Ÿน Refreshing summer THC cocktail - I love these Cann packets for taking a THC bev on the go. They are small enough to fit in a purse or a pocket and then just mix it with seltzer, soda or juice. I brought the grapefruit rosemary packet to my parents house the other day and they had fresca and the combo was unreal!! It is my new favorite thing. You can use code MADABOUTFOOD for a discount #CannPartner
  • ๐Ÿ‹ Fresh summery body mist - I've never been a big perfume gal BUT I do really love that the Salt & Stone fragrances are very subtle, but still smell wonderful. Their new Lily & Yuzu scent is fresh and citrusy without being too fruity because it has a woodsy undertone. I LOVE it and its perfect for summer.
  • ๐Ÿณ Nonstick titanium skillet (without a nonstick coating!!) - the Our Place titanium skillet has been on my list for a while because it has a nonstick surface without a coating which means you can use higher heat AND metal cooking utensils on it. We've only had it for a few weeks and it's already the one that my wife and I reach for the most.
  • ๐Ÿ“ธ a digital camera for family photos - I got a new camera for taking photos of my boys on family outings. I love using a real camera because then I don't have my phone out as much. This camera provides photos that feel a bit nostalgic like film, but since they're digital I can transfer them to my phone instantly.
  • ๐ŸŽฝ bra free tanks - why is putting on a bra sometimes the hardest thing to do in the summer?! I recently discovered these bra free tanks and I am forever changed for the better. They are buttery soft, supportive and save me a layer on hot days. I like the scoop neck as well as the high neck. I also have my eye on this chambray tank that I think would be so cute for early fall.
  • ๐Ÿ‹ Fresh mint lemonade - in the afternoons I've been making a quick homemade mint lemonade with some mint from the garden. I muddle 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves with 1 tbsp sugar (I used truvia) and 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice in a weck jar until the sugar dissolves. Then, I fill it with ice and water and enjoy!
  • ๐Ÿต Salted maple matcha latte - this might just be the perfect drink to bridge the gap from summer to fall (too soon!?) I mix maple syrup and sea salt into some whole milk and pour it into a glass with lots of ice. Then, I make a strong batch of ceremonial grade matcha to pour over the top. Its refreshing, earthy, but slightly sweet from the maple syrup and the salty note just rounds the whole thing out. I've been loving this matcha from Dona and they sent me a code so you can get 20% off! Use code MADABOUTFOOD at checkout.
  • ๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ the best scalp scrub ever - every time I share this product I give a warning that not only is it expensive, but it is also amazing SO you will love and hate me for introducing it to you. I use this scrub once a week to get my hair and scalp feeling super fresh and clean. It takes away any build up that can leave your hair greasy and your scalp itchy.
  • ๐Ÿ›๏ธ My Nordstrom Sale picks!! - grab these before the sale ends 8/10!
    • โ€‹the most comfortable walking shoes - I got these exact shoes at last years Nordstrom sale and without being too dramatic, they changed my life!! So lightweight and comfortable for walking.
    • I tried this almond shower oil at my sisters over the weekend and I immediately purchased while on sale. It has a subtle yet pleasant sent and an extremely luxurious feel that leaves your skin moisturized even when using it for shaving
    • I also ordered this blush duo from Armani because I tried a sample last week and the color stays on so well that it stayed on through a full pool swim with my kids!
    • โ€‹sleek workout leggings - these hug you in without squeezing you too much which is exactly what I want in a workout pant. I own 3 pairs already and will be buying my 4th while they are on sale.
    • โ€‹the cutest fall suede tote - I absolutely do not need another bag so I'm resisting the urge to purchase this one, but I am living vicariously through my friend who did! It is such a pretty shape and color.
    • โ€‹super soft hoodie - I've had my eye on this brand for years since my very cool and stylish sister introduced me to it. I love this light green color so I think I'm gonna finally purchase. It's listed as a mens brand, but it's very much unisex
  • ๐Ÿฅ’ homemade pickles - I am quick pickling lots of my garden goodies to keep them fresher longer. I use the quick pickle brine from this recipe as a base and adapt with what I have sometimes adding honey or more sugar for more sweetness. Another way I like to preserve my garden bounty is with sauce. As soon as I have enough tomatoes I will be making a batch of 4 ingredient roasted tomato sauce to freeze for colder months.
  • ๐Ÿ‘– the perfect legging alternative - I bought these lightweight barrel pants back in the spring and I just ordered in 3 more colors for fall. I love how they feel like athletic pants, but look more presentable. I get size medium short (I'm 5'3") I also LOVE these cotton poplin pants from J.Crew. I have them in the stripe and will definitely be grabbing brown
